On the 2nd of February the weather in Newcastle was rather chilly. The temperature was low but the hearts of the contestants taking part in the first Gerard Football Tournament were extremely hot that day. The tournament was named after our dear colleague from Consett to commemorate his sudden death in December last year. Maja, we are with you!!!
The tournament organised with the support of NEPCO (thanks Ania) and Civic Centre was an exciting event with lots of fun and fantastic play of the participants. This time the players didn't avoid injuries (Legia). There were 6 teams altogether taking part in the tournament, two of which were from Newcastle and one from Consett. The winner was again the Polish football team from Newcastle led by their English captain-Lee Stewart. Congratulatons!!!
